San Diego Temple

We had to go to San Diego for a side job Jeff had to do, and on our way home we had the chance to walk around the San Diego temple. It was so beautiful with the lights, and there was a childrens choir there singing in the front. It was great to walk around with Jeff and talk about going in there together. We have set the date for March 21st, and are very excited.

Shooting Range

We had the chance to go to Arizona for Thanksgiving to spend some time with my family. Jeff's favorite part was going to the shooting range with my uncle's and cousins. They had a lot of fun, and apparently Jeff is one of the better shooters in the family.

Playing Rock Band

For Jeff's birthday, he got X-Box, and with that came Rock Band. We had Rylee over for a couple of days, and we played Rock Band with Ren and Jessica. It was a lot of fun, and we sound so great. I especially love the drums...Jeff is a pro at the guitar.

New Hairstyle!!!

So I have been wanting to try something new with my hair for awhile. I hate having to keep highlighting my hair, so Jeff convinced me to try going dark for a change. The first color was extremely dark, and I was really worried, but as the color faded, I learned to like it a little better. I still prefer blonde, but it was just fun to try something new.

Ren's Birthday Dinner

For our friend Ren's birthday, we went to a restaurant in downtown San Diego. The restaurant was called Dick's Last Resort. It was a very cool restaurant, one that Jeff and I hadn't ever been to. Everyone is in a huge banquet room, and there are napkins thrown everywhere. Our waitress made everyone at the table hats which we had to wear, and constantly throughout our meal we got involved in a napkin fight with people at other tables. It was a lot of fun to try something new and different.

Iron Mountain Hike

So Jeff and I rarely get the chance to spend much time together on the weekends...Jeff is usually working, and if he is not, we usually have the whole day planned with family or friends. But we did get a chance to spend a Saturday morning with each other, and we decided to go on a hike. Jeff used to live in Poway, and knew of a fun hike he went on when in young mens, so we decided we would try it out. We had so much fun...we even ended up running down the entire thing. It was about 7 1/2 miles total, and we loved being together every minute of it.

Halloween

For Halloween, we had our ward party. We invited Mckenna and Corrie down to go with us...and we had a lot of fun. Corrie was a baseball player, Mckenna was Hermione from Harry Potter, and Jeff and I came up with our costumes an hour before the party. We were trying to be a couple from Grease, but we had to make do with the clothes we had.

Grandma Schlappi

My grandma Schlappi came down to visit my parents, and she made her way down to see our house and spend the afternoon with us. Jeff and I made a nice dinner for my grandma and my mom, and we had such a good time eating and laughing. I miss my extended family so much, and I can't wait until I see them again...which should be for Thanksgiving. Sorry the pictures are bad...Jeff forgot to turn off the flash.

Disneyland!!!

I am going to make an attempt to update on what we have been doing for the last couple months. We made it out to Disneyland because Jeff had two tickets left over from when he worked there. We both took the day off work and had so much fun together. These are some of the pictures we took.

NINE WORDS WOMEN USE

My aunt sent me this email...and I had to laugh. I think I have used every one of these words on my sweet husband. I had to post it, mainly to give all of those sweet husbands (like mine) the heads up on the words women use.

(1) Fine:
This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes:
If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3) Nothing:
This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

(5) Loud Sigh:
This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

(6) That's Okay:
This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

(7) Thanks:
A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' . that will bring on a 'whatever').

(8) Whatever:
Is a woman's way of saying FORGET YOU!

(9) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.

Alive and Well...

I haven't had the chance to post in a long time, so here is a little of what has happened this last month. I will post more pictures later when I get a chance.

Life is pretty much the same. I am still going to school every night, and I am enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would. I love to learn, and I feel like I am gaining a thorough knowledge of the law. I recently quit my job, and my last day is on Friday. I will take more classes next semester, and hopefully receive my AA Degree by May. I will have to take about 10 classes at one time, but hopefully it will all work out ok, and I won't be too overwhelmed.

Jeff has been working as usual...but his work has slowed down a lot. He is still going side jobs, but not nearly as many as he used to. He also started school again at night, so we don't really get the chance to see each other as much as we would like to. Jeff recently had his birthday...and I really feel like a horrible wife because we didn't really do anything special. I had planned for him to get an hour 1/2 massage, but that didn't fall through. The night of his birthday was the adult session of Stake Conference, so we spent the night there. After, we thought we would go out for some dessert at a restaurant we had been wanting to try. We got there at about 8:30, and they had just closed. Apparently they had been slow all night, so they closed down early...just our luck. So we went home, and Jeff ordered some Pizza Hut wings and cinnastix. I am pretty sure it was his worst birthday yet, and I feel horrible for it.

Well, that's about it...I will post pictures of the last month when I get a chance...

Family Pictures with Aunt CoCo

I just now got the family pictures we took a couple of months ago. My aunt Collette came down from Utah, and we had some time to take family pictures. These were the first pictures our family took with Jeff in them....YAH! After 20 years, my dad is finally not the only man in the picture.

Jeff's new project

Well, now that we have a tv, we need a new tv stand. Jeff decided he would make one with the help of his brother Jerry who is a contractor. They spent a day building it, and then Jeff brought it home. After another couple of days of sanding, priming, and painting, we had a new tv stand. It looks really good. I am so amazed at how many different things Jeff is good at. I sure picked a talented husband.

Jeff's other new toy!!!

I don't understand why Jeff gets to have all these new toys...I never get anything. j/k . Jeff has been bugging me forever about getting a new tv. I have no idea why, because our tv is big and it works fine. I guess it is another one of those guy things...you have to have the nicest tv. Well, our friend in the ward who works with home theatre systems was selling his tv for a very reasonable price. Of course, Jeff decided this was the tv he wanted. He spent weeks trying to convince me why this tv would be such a good investment. Finally I agreed that he could get the tv, but only using the money he received from side jobs. I was thinking it would take at least a month or two to round up that much money...but sure enough, two weeks later, we are sitting in our living room admiring the quality of our new tv. I still can't believe he made that money so fast. Anyway, I must admit, the tv is very nice, and I especially enjoy watching the olympics on it.

Schlappi Family Reunion

In July, we were able to drive to Utah and spend time with my mom's family for a reunion. We drove 8 hours to the city of Alton, Ut...population 158. That figure is exact...the mayor confirmed it. We spent a couple of days hanging out in a huge cabin, playing games, eating, biking, etc. It was a lot of fun to get some time off work and relax. It was also the first time Jeff really got to know my mom's family. He had met them, but never spent quality time with them. I am amazed at how much he got along with them. All I hear now is how much he wants to go fishing and hunting...which is pretty much all my mom's family cares about (well, the men anyway). I am glad he had a good time though and got to know my family, because once we move to Utah (eventually we want to end up there), we will be spending a lot of time with them.

Jeff's new toy...

As soon as Jeff got his new job, he told me he had to get a truck. After a couple of weeks of nonstop begging, I finally decided he really did need one. Within a week, he bought a 2004 Chevy Colorado. He absolutely loves it. It is navy blue (which is my favorite color), and apparantly very nice for a work truck (I wouldn't know). We have a bet going...I say that we will still be paying for the car by the time it dies. Jeff believes otherwise. I can't wait to win this one!!!

Jeff got a new job!!!

A little while ago Jeff quit working for Corig...he wasn't getting very many hours, and we needed the money. He found a job based out of Escondido, which is nice. It is called Sun Ray Electric. He loves working for his new boss, and he feels like he is very independent. I am so proud of him...not only is he working full time, but he constantly agrees to side jobs. He is busy all the time, but wants the money. He will be a great provider.

Honeymoon in Big Bear

For our honeymoon, we spent a week at a cabin in Big Bear. The cabin was a cute little one bedroom with its own private hot tub. We loved having time to relax and just hang out, rather than going to work every day. We walked into town, went to the movies, went out to eat, and went sledding. We had an awesome time!!!
